The founder of the firm Thomas O. Castro, CPA, was a former Internal Revenue Service agent and started the firm as a tax practice in 1972. Currently the firm consists of three partners, Robert E. Thresher, CPA, James M. Castro, CPA and Paul R. Oliveira, CPA. Thomas O. Castro, CPA remains with the firm in an of counsel capacity. With the addition of Mr. Oliveira in January 2002, the firm can now draw on the combined experience of nearly 100 years in the accounting areas of audit, tax and business consulting. This combined experience is the foundation of our firm and our greatest strength. Our firm currently provides audit service to clients in several industries in addition to many in the not for profit area. Mr. James Castro’s original accounting and audit experience was gained with Ernst & Young LLP where he worked in the capacity of audit manager, responsible for all technical and administrative aspects of performing audits. We believe this "Big" audit firm experience combined with the flexibility, service and consistency of a small firm, provided by Mr. Thresher and Mr. Oliveira, are a unique asset of our firm.
